Dan E. Muirhead died December 22, 1992, of complications from non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He left behind his wife of 38 years, Darlene, four children and five grandchildren. He was a successful and respected business owner in the field of insurance, and he had a wonderful sense of humor. Dan was a "family" man who enjoyed any opportunity to gather with his family. He took advantage of these times to share his philosophies on life. To his children and brothers, he was "Doc." To his grandchildren, he was "PeePaw." His unconditional love left a lasting imprint on the lives of those who knew him.

Judith L. Moss was born March 20, 1956 in Vicksburg, MS, and spent her adult life in Arkansas. She had three children (Jody, Christopher, and Aaron.) Her interests included photography, camping, and hiking, and she was an avid lover of nature. Judith was proud of her Native American heritage and had the heart of an environmentalist. Her courage and bravery during her illness gave strength to those around her. On November 1, 2000, Judith came to a crossroad and God said, Continue on, Judith."

Ruth G. McCloskey died November 16, 1998, of Liver Cancer. She was survived by seven children and seventeen grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Dr. Joseph B. McCloskey. Although Ruth suffered from rheumatoid arthritis most of her adult life, she continued to use her hands in quilting, sewing, knitting, and working with stained glass. She was a nurse by profession, and a devoted mother who was active in school organizations with her children. She read incessantly, and enjoyed mysteries and crossword puzzles. Ruth made friends easily, and maintained one friendship with a girl from childhood... they remained friends for 75 years. In early November, 1998, Ruth underwent several tests and an MRI revealed that her liver was practically consumed by Cancer. When she saw the test results ( which, as a nurse, she wanted to see) she said the picture was so pretty... she said it looked like little flowers on the page. Her illness was short-lived, but her passing was blessed, as she remained alert and smiling almost to the end.

Eileen T. Cozier - A Breast Cancer Survivor is the original motivation for the original Climb for a Cure. Eileen was born in 1941 and spent a bit of her childhood in Warren, OH and then in Cleveland, OH where she met Charles, her husband of 39 years. Eileen has always had an adventurous spirit which she has instilled on her two children. She is a firm believer in the value of travel and world experiences as a form of education. After going through several operations and chemotherapy, Eileen is back out on the dog show circuit with her two prides, Bear and Ike, two 110lb+ Bernese Mountain Dogs.
